Mujibnagar Dibash on 17th April, 2014

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu celebrated the Mujibnagar Dibash on 17th April, 2014 with a modest programme that was marked by dignity and honour.

The day’s programme began by reading out of the messages of the Hon’ble President and Hon’ble Prime Minister that were received from the Ministry yesterday. This was followed by a discussion session. The discussion session was presided over by H.E. the Ambassador. In her speech, the Ambassador stressed the importance of Mujibnagar Dibash in the history of Bangladesh and noted that through the oath taking by First Bangladeshi government, Bangladesh began its journey with a full formed Government that guided nation to victory in the glorious War of Liberation in 1971. She underscored the importance of remembering this day by the future generation.

The programme was attended by H.E. the Ambassador, officers and members of the staff of the Mission and members of the expatriate Bangladesh community living in Kathmandu.
